What is Connect2Fans?

Connect2Fans is developed to support artists, athletes, writers, musicians, photographers and other people in the arts and entertainment industry with their online sales needs. We have created software for talented people who are finding it difficult to connect directly with their fans. We offer quick and easy management of inventory using software specifically designed for your needs. In the process, you have complete control over all fees that are charged to your fans, which we hope will lower or eliminate service fees altogether. Through the Connect2Fans software the artists and entertainment industry personnel will be able to offer inventory items such as digital files (MP3s, Ringtones, Videos, PDF Books, Software etc…), tangible merchandise (CDs, DVDs, T-Shirts, Photos, Paintings etc…), ticketing (barcoded, PDF, reserved seating, GA etc…) and hospitality services (Restaurants, Limo, VIP services etc…). Users of our service will have the ability to use their own domain name and merchant account which will give them complete control over their branding and money. We are starting with Moneris and PayPal as the initial payment gateways and will be quickly adding support for Authorize.net, RBS WorldPay, Chase Paymentech and others.

What is the project about?

What we are all about, frankly, is trying to give back the control of entertainment inventory to the creators of that inventory. There is no reason why fans should pay 10-25% in extra fees to purchase a CD or event ticket from their favourite band. In our research, over 85% of all fans sales are a direct result of the fan contacting the artist first, why send that business to someone else? We would like to put the tools where they belong so subscribers are free to decide exactly how they want to run their business. From the guy in his basement who would like to sell some MP3’s all the way up to the event producer putting on nationwide tours, Connect2Fans makes it easy to get the job done while reducing the overhead costs which can hopefully lead to lower service fees or more revenue going where it should.

Why we are building it?

We are building it because as fans ourselves we are tired of paying huge service fees to go see our favourite DJ or band. We are annoyed that a handful of large companies are controlling access to the items we want to purchase and taking a hefty cut of the revenue that should be going to the artists. We have spent the last 5 years building software for a large primary ticketing service provider, and we were really amazed how neglected or abused artists and fans are these days. We have done something about it by creating the tools and services for the people who need it the most, the artist and the fans.
